Marta Salogni is an Italian-born, award winning record producer, mixer and engineer working from her own Studio Zona in London. She has worked with esteemed artists such as Björk, Holly Herndon, Circuit des Yeux, Mica Levi, Sampha, M.I.A, Bon Iver, Black Midi, Animal Collective, HAAi, Ela Minus, Dreamwife, Daniel Avery amongst others.
As well as operating within the wide scenes of recorded music, she performs improvised and composed sets using tape machines as instruments, creating loops, feedback and echoes through the manipulation of both live and prepared sounds, using her collection of Revox, Ferrograph, Akai and Teac reels-to-reels.
She runs a charity called 'Free Youth Orchestra', which focuses on removing financial barriers between children and access to musical equipment, by providing instruments and free workshops run by local musicians.
Salogni’s musical background was cultivated in her native Italy, where she spent her formative years collaborating with musical acts of all styles. She started working as a live sound engineer for the local social centre Magazzino 47 and independent radio station Radio Onda D'Urto, non-profit left-wing venues and counterculture organisations for a variety of gigs, festivals and theatre productions.
