Learn to market your music releases! 
This DIY Music Promo Crash Course is designed to quickly equip you with proven tools, templates & strategies to help make your next music release stand out.

The course will be held over 6 hours, split across two days with short breaks to recharge in between.  

As an online course, it will be extremely interactive and practical, where you will meet new people, join interesting conversations, be able to learn in a kind and encouraging environment. 

You will be learning from experienced Strategist and Educator Whitney Asher, with facilitation from MPW founder Xylo Aria.

WHAT YOU NEED

To take part in this course, no previous marketing or PR knowledge is necessary. We just ask that you are prepared to take lots of notes and get the most out of it by being interactive throughout the sessions!

COURSE OUTLINE

The course will involve 6 hours of teaching content spread across 2 days. You will be given time to ask questions during/after the session, with free ongoing email “soundboarding” as you apply the strategies learned. You will also be provided with detailed slides of the content for your reference when putting what you learn into practice.

The topics across the days will be split up as follows:

DAY 1

  • Music Release Planning - Students will learn where to start with a Music Release Sequence to help them prioritize release objectives in light of their current resources. 
  • Branding Essentials - Students will learn the MIX Method for content creation to make a strong first impression where their music brand shows up online, onstage & on paper. 

DAY 2

  • Public Relations Strategy - Students will learn how to identify relevant media outlets, create meaningful relationships and share their story in a compelling way through an email, EPK & press release. 
  • Social Media Strategy - Students will explore digital platforms to reach their ideal audience(s) using a content calendar, along with simple ways to streamline content creation and planning. 
  • Playlist Placement - Students will learn how to identify playlist curators who are seeking new music like theirs, craft a good pitch and send an email that will get opened.
